Hallmark, Santa, George Washington Headline Yardley Holiday Weekend
Holiday events are planned this weekend in Yardley, Lower Makefield, and Morrisville with a historic home, parades, light shows, and Santa.

YARDLEY, PA —For residents of Yardley, Lower Makefield Township and Morrisville, this weekend is filled with holiday events that include Hallmark, lots of lights, a tree lighting and parade and an open house where George Washington once slept.
The Yardley Business Association will hold a Christmas parade and tree lighting from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Buttonwood Park on South Main Street and Penn Valley Drive. Admission is free and Santa will be paying a visit.
Shady Brook Farm, which is drawing visitors to its light show, has the Hallmark Channel back this weekend to promote its holiday programming event, Countdown to Christmas. This is the second straight weekend Hallmark is appearing at the Stony Hill Road farm in Lower Makefield Township.

Countdown to Christmas on the Hallmark Channel provides new, original holiday movie premieres every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the holiday season on the network, the company says.
And Summerseat —the headquarters of Gen. George Washington from Dec. 8-14, 1776 —will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, called "Summerseat Remembers."

The open house features Santa Claus, a talk with George Washington, wreath making and a tour of the historic Morrisville home.
Later this month, Yardley will host a Chanukah Village that is free to the public.
Main Street will be transformed into a village at 3 p.m. on Dec. 18. There will be activities, giveaways and treats. At 4:15 p.m., there will be the Grand Menorah Lighting outside Borough Hall featuring music, Latkas and Chocolate Gelt. An RSVP is required at www.jewishyardley.com.
