Christmas, Hanukkah Events In Yardley: Parades, Tree Lightings, More

There are many holiday events planned throughout Lower Bucks County over the next month.

YARDLEY, PA — There is no shortage of things to do in Yardley, Lower Makefield, Morrisville and Lower Bucks County to get the winter holiday season off to a rollicking good start.

Christmas and Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, intersect this year, with Hanukkah running Dec. 18-26. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the holidays.

  • The Yardley Business Association will hold a Christmas parade and tree lighting from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at Buttonwood Park on South Main Street and Penn Valley Drive. Admission is free and Santa will be paying a visit.

Yardley Chanukah Village

  • Yardley will hold a Chanukah Village that is free to all members of the public. Main Street will be transformed into a village at 3 p.m. on Dec. 18. There will be activities, giveaways and treats. At 4:15 p.m., there will be the Grand Menorah Lighting outside Borough Hall featuring music, Latkas and Chocolate Gelt. In Yardley, kids have several chances to see Santa Claus:

Breakfasts With Santa

  • Mil-Lee's Yardley Diner on 75 S. Main St. has Breakfasts with Santa over the following weekends: Dec. 3-4, 10-11, 17-18, and Dec. 24. Dec. 3, 4, and 24 breakfasts are sold out but seats are still available on the other dates. Breakfast starts at 9 a.m. except on Dec. 17 when breakfasts are at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The cost is $15 for children and $20 for adults with a gift from Santa. For reservations, call 215-369-2400.
  • Shady Brook Farm in Lower Makefield Township has breakfasts with Santa each weekend from Nov. 27 to Dec. 17. Prices vary at the farm on 931 Stony Hill Rd. A Breakfast buffet includes scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, French toast, waffles, breakfast pastries, breakfast bread, fresh fruit, an omelet station, and beverages. There's also a hot chocolate bar. Children get a 5 x 7 photo (1 per child), a souvenir cup (1 per child) and a meet and greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Holly Nights

  • Pennsbury Manor will feature bonfires, carolers, candlelit tours of the Manor House, Colonial craft demonstrations, and a visit from Father Christmas himself. The event is from Dec. 1-2 at the manor on 400 Pennsbury Memorial Road in Morrisville from 6-9 p.m. The cost is $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $6 for children. Reservations are required. Santa on a Tractor

  • Charlann Farms, at 586 Stony Hill Road in Lower Makefield Township, will have Santa Claus arriving on a tractor with dates varying between Dec. 3 and Dec. 4. The event is from Noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 215-493-1831. Santa visits and photos take place between Nov. 26 and Dec 18. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Photo packages vary.

Oxford Valley Mall

  • Santa is holding court in the Oxford Valley Mall's Macy's Court. Make a reservation today for Santa photos. The mall also offers Caring Santa exclusively for children with special needs. A reservation is needed.

Breakfast With Santa

  • The Radisson Hotel Philadelphia Northeast will hold a Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. The event takes place at the hotel on 2400 Old Lincoln Hwy. in Trevose. The cost is $25 per person and reservations are required. For more information, call 267-525-4011.

Neshaminy Mall

  • Santa has set up shop at the Neshaminy Mall. Mall officials even suggest parking off Rockhill Drive as the best parking lot and using the Food Court Entrance to avoid the holiday shoppers and get better direct access to Saint Nick. Click the Santa link to select a time to see Santa.

Sesame Place

  • Sesame Place will hold Santa's 'Twas The Night Celebration at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24, at 100 Sesame Rd. in Langhorne. Prices vary. The amusement park has launched its "A Very Furry Christmas Celebration." For more details, visit Sesame Place.

Feeney's Garden Center

  • Santa's visiting from the North Pole! Come take pictures with Santa starting Dec. 5. Post your pictures with the hashtag #feeneysfortheholidays and tag us for a chance to be featured on our page. Santa's visiting hours are Dec. 5-23, Monday through Friday, from 5-7 p.m. Santa will be preparing his sleigh on Dec. 22 and will not be in attendance that day. Bolton Mansion

  • Santa Claus and The Grinch are coming to town, or to the Bolton Mansion. Their arrival takes place Dec.-4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and may feature different activities, food trucks, and vendors each day so be sure to check the event description periodically. The event begins with Santa arriving via fire truck and then there will be photo opportunities with Santa and The Grinch, food trucks, children's activities, vendors/crafters, a DJ and a visit of the Holiday House.
