Harvest Day Canceled By Weather In Yardley
With a rainy forecast for the weekend, organizers decided to cancel Saturday's festival after it had already been postponed once in Yardley.

YARDLEY, PA —Harvest Day 2023 is no more.
Organizers decided Thursday morning to cancel the annual event planned for Saturday due to a forecast of inclement weather.
"We have made the difficult decision to cancel Yardley Harvest Day 2023. It will not be rescheduled," Harvest Day Co-Founder Rich Wayne said on behalf of The Yardley Harvest Day Committee.

The committee said that the weather "has not been kind this year."
A Sept. 23 date was postponed to Saturday due to Tropical Storm Ophelia.

"Now, all of the weather applications are forecasting constant rain on our rescheduled date," the committee said. "Our vendors and performers can handle a passing shower but rain, sometimes heavy, throughout the entire setup, operation, and takedown would be too difficult to overcome."
The committee said that there are no other available dates for which there are sufficient Yardley Borough and Yardley Harvest Day Committee resources to hold the festival.
This year would have marked the 55th anniversary of the fall festival.
"We understand that this cancellation will disappoint many people and cause scheduling conflicts. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience," the committee said in a statement to Patch. "This decision was not taken lightly and was made only after long and careful consideration. We will try again next year."
Yardley Councilman David Appelbaum, a committee member, told Patch Thursday that the committee made a unanimous decision.
He said that canceling a few days before the festival would stop deliveries of tents, tables, chairs, port-a-potties, and the music stage.
"To move forward with Harvest Day knowing that the event would not be fun if our attendees, crafters, and others would be soaked was a decision though difficult, but was the responsible decision to make."
