Harvest Day Has New Date For 55th Anniversary In Yardley
The annual festival, scheduled for last Saturday, had to be postponed due to inclement weather from Tropical Storm Ophelia.

YARDLEY, PA —Harvest Day has a new date to mark its 55th anniversary as the borough's fall festival.
Rich Wayne, Harvest Day's co-chairman, said the annual event will now be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, three weeks later than originally planned.
The festival, scheduled for last Saturday, had to be postponed due to inclement weather from Tropical Storm Ophelia.

Wayne said it was the first time in 15 years that the festival date had to be moved.
"The strong winds and persistent rain of Tropical Storm Ophelia forced the closure of most outdoor events this past weekend," Wayne said.

Wayne told community leaders that there was a delay in getting a new date established.
He said that Oct. 14 was the only date when there were sufficient Yardley Borough and Yardley Harvest Day Committee resources to stage the festival.
"We apologize for the delay," he said. "We understand that some of you may have scheduling conflicts because mid-October is a busy time for festivals and shows."
Wayne also urged vendors to secure their spots for this year since there are no guarantees for next year. He said that there will be fewer slots available for the 2024 festival due to the College Avenue Bridge being inaccessible while under construction by Bucks County.
This year's festival will feature some new additions: a new food truck area, Spider-Man, Mickey Mouse, Henna tattoos, Tarot card readings, and a pet-crafter section.
Wayne said attendees should expect at least 30 food vendors, 145 crafter spaces, more than a dozen non-profit community groups, two free face painters, two free balloon twisters, five bands, a dance troupe, free pony rides, several hundred free pumpkins to decorate, a bookmobile, a blacksmith, and a bounce house.
