Heroin Arrest, $40K Credit Card Fraud: Lower Makefield Crimes

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

These are the criminal incidents:

July 29

CREDIT CARD FRAUD — 200 block of Polk Way reported at 8:26 a.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) gained access to their bank account, obtained a new debit card and made about $40,000 worth of charges in the Las Vegas area. An investigation is ongoing.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT — 500 block of West Trenton Avenue reported at 3:14 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. Further investigation led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana. The 44-year-old female driver from Bensalem was cited for Disorderly Conduct.

THEFT — Unit block of Crown Terrace reported at 5:32 p.m. The complainant reported nine fraudulent checks written on their account in the past 12 months totaling about $4,480. An investigation is ongoing.

July 28

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT — 500 block of Kathy Drive reported at 4:15 a.m. Falls Township Police requested LMTPD to check the parking lot of Kathy Drive for a red Hyundai. The vehicle was suspected to be involved in a series of car door handle pulling incidents in the area. Upon arrival, the red Hyundai was not located in the parking lot. Police then made contact with the vehicle's owner, who reported that their vehicle was stolen. In its place, a blue Hyundai with NJ registration was found with its engine running, windows broken, and steering column ripped out. The red Hyundai was later recovered in Trenton, N.J. An investigation is ongoing.

WANTED PERSON – Unit block of Oxford Valley Rd. at Sunoco reported at 12:08 p.m. Police responded to a report of an overdose. Further investigation led to the discovery of Heroin and Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. A records check revealed the 40-year-old man from Bristol was wanted by Bucks County Sheriffs. He was taken into police custody.

ATTEMPTED THEFT FROM VEHICLE — 800 block of Slate Hill Road, reported at 2:37 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) attempted to enter their locked vehicle at 3:16 a.m.

July 26

DUI ARREST — Unit block of West Ferry Road reported at 4:36 p.m. Police responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle at the location. Further investigation led to the arrest of the 24-year-old male driver from Trenton, N.J. for Driving Under the Influence.

July 25

FRAUD — 600 block of West Melissa Circle reported at 6:11 p.m. The complainant reported investing a total of $30,000 with a consulting company based in Atlanta, GA, and has been trying to recover the investment. Despite multiple attempts, the victim was unable to contact the company regarding the return of the funds.

July 24

THEFT — 1100 block of Kenneth Lane, reported at 11:36 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered the open garage and removed a Shimano Curado fishing rod valued at $520.

VEHICLE INVESTIGATION — Merrick Road and Woodside Road, reported at 2:53 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for speeding. The 20-year-old male driver from Trenton, N,J was found to be operating the vehicle without a driver's license and insurance. Further investigation revealed a fraudulent temporary tag and multiple fake registration cards. The vehicle was impounded. He was cited for Speeding, Driving Without a License, Driving an Unregistered Vehicle, No Inspection and No Insurance.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS — Unit block of Brook Lane, reported at 10:52 p.m. The complainant reported that sometime between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked garage and utilized a ladder to gain access to the attic. Nothing reported missing at this time. See less
