'Internet Safe Exchange Zone' Created In Yardley

Yardley Borough residents now have a safe place to exchange goods sold through popular websites like eBay and Craigslist.

Yardley Borough residents now have a safe place to exchange goods sold through popular websites like eBay and Craigslist.

The local police department announced recently it has established an "Internet Safe Exchange Zone” for residents buying or selling items online. Police now say the area in front of Yardley Borough Police Department Headquarters (in the back of 56 South Main Street) has been designated as an Internet Safe Exchange Zone.

The brightly-lit area is recorded by multiple cameras, according to police.

"Many people in our area utilize websites like eBay, Craigslist, OfferUp, etc. for transactions due to the ease, price and convenience," Yardley Borough Police said in an announcement. But unfortunately, sometimes these transactions can become an opportunity for potential criminals, police noted.

"Please feel free to use this location for any internet commerce exchange," the announcement said.
