Lower Makefield Hires New Township Manager

Lower Makefield Township is getting a new manager.

Kurt Ferguson, the current manager in Newtown Township, will be coming on board in July.

The Lower Makefield supervisors last week approved his appointment. He will replace Terry Fedorchak, who is retiring. BucksLocalNews.com reports Ferguson was the top choice out of 35 candidates and was hired for a two-year contract.

Ferguson is expected to announce his resignation from his post in Newtown Township at a Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday. Ferguson has been with the Newtown Township since 2012, coming from Hempfield Township in Westmoreland County.
