The Colalillo family, owners and operators of the ShopRite of Yardley, joined store associates and Electrify America representatives to highlight the importance of expanding access to local sustainable transportation options.

“Launching this state-of-the-art station on Earth Day makes the moment even more meaningful,” said Joseph Colalillo, President of ShopRite of Hunterdon County, which operates five ShopRite stores. “By working with Electrify America, we’re able to bring convenient, fast and reliable EV charging to our Yardley store while reinforcing our commitment to our customers and community.”

The installation is part of a broader effort by Wakefern Food Corp., the New Jersey-based, retailer-owned supermarket cooperative, to expand EV charging across ShopRite locations and strengthen sustainable infrastructure in local communities.

ShopRite of Hunterdon County is a Wakefern Member and family-owned business run by the Colalillo family for three generations. The family today operates five ShopRite stores located in Yardley and Bethlehem, and Flemington, Clinton, and Greenwich, N.J.

“EV charging should fit seamlessly into daily life. Our collaboration with ShopRite enables us to meet EV drivers where they already are and make charging an easy and convenient part of their normal routines,” said Ursula Lazo, Portfolio Management leader at Electrify America. “This new charging station in Yardley is our first location with ShopRite in Pennsylvania and we’re thrilled to bring this amenity to their customers.”

As Wakefern cooperative members continue to identify new locations for advanced EV charging stations, ShopRite remains focused on investing in solutions that support sustainability, enhance convenience and meet the evolving needs of customers.

Beyond EV charging, the Colalillo family supports a range of sustainability initiatives at their ShopRite stores, including fresh food donation efforts, recycling and composting programs, and investments in energy‑efficient equipment and store operations. The store’s associate‑led Green Team also plays an active role in advancing these efforts, reinforcing a commitment to environmental stewardship and community responsibility.

Electrify America's Hyper-Fast network currently operates in 47 states and the District of Columbia, supporting increasing ZEV adoption with a network that is convenient, technologically advanced and built for customers.
