Lower Makefield Police Get $10K Donation For Canine Unit
The $10,000 donation was from the Fred Beans Charitable Fund.

The Lower Makefield Police department has received a $10,000 donation from the Fred Beans Charitable Fund for its canine unit, Chief Kenneth D. Coluzzi announced Monday.
Lower Makefield police canines are used for tracking, bomb detection and narcotics detection. They are also used to locate missing children and track criminals.
"I am very proud of the hard work and dedication of our service dogs and their police officer handlers. Since the inception of the canine unit in 2005, they responded to numerous searches for missing children, captured wanted fugitives, located illegal narcotics and rendered buildings and community gatherings safe. I wish to personally thank Mr. Fred Beans for his generous donation of $10,000.00," Coluzzi said in a statement.
