Lower Makefield Township Hides 6,000 Easter Eggs In Its Parks

The egg-stravaganza is on as Lower Makefield urges residents Thursday to search its parks and find eggs with special prizes.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The Egg-Stravaganza is underway.

The township's Parks and Recreation Department staff and volunteers hid more than 3,000 Easter Eggs for residents to find throughout the park system over the last two days with one giant Golden Egg with a special prize inside.

Another 3,000 were being hidden Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, parks officials said.

The parks department is urging residents to visit the parks and find eggs.

"There are special prize eggs and a grand prize giant golden egg still out there. You get to keep your eggs when you find them so you can egg hunt in your backyard when you are done," the parks department said. "Keep searching."

That one special egg, though, may have been found.

The parks department said late Wednesday afternoon that two children who are best friends found the golden egg in a gaga pit at Fred Allen Softball Complex.
