Man Stole Boat From River Road Home: Police

Brandon McKain, 27, stole two boats from local residences, police say. His parents also told police he stole $2K worth of items from them.

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA -- A 27-year-old Washington Crossing man has been charged with theft after police say he stole a kayak and a canoe from two separate homes. He also stole $2,000 worth of items from his parents' Upper Makefield home, authorities say.

Brandon McKain, 27, of Milyko Drive was charged Monday with three counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. A police investigation revealed McKain stole a kayak and a motor from a residence on River Road in Upper Makefield and a canoe from a home on Devon Drive. The thefts occurred in February, police said.

The estimated value of the thefts are approximately $2,400.

McKain was also charged for a separate incident in which his parents reported he stole "several items" from their home. Those items, which were not specifically named, were worth $2,000, police said.

McKain remains in Bucks County Prison after failing to make bail, which was set at 10 percent of $25,000. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 15, court records show.
