Military Drills At NJ Airport Will Increase Noise In Lower Bucks
The Trenton-Mercer (NJ) Airport will hold drills for 12 days next month. Yardley area residents have complained about noise there for years.
LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —The Trenton-Mercer Airport —which has prompted noise violation complaints for Lower Bucks County residents —will hold military training drills for nearly two weeks next month.
Mercer County (NJ) officials are alerting the public that "routine realistic military training will be conducted at Trenton-Mercer Airport in Ewing from June 3 through June 14.
The operation will include air and ground mobility exercises.

"During this time, the public may hear some additional aircraft because the training will include increased rotary wing aircraft operations, some into the evening," the public notice posted on Facebook Tuesday stated.
Planning has been done by the U.S. military to minimize impact, the notice said.

The training will not be open to the public or the media due to safety concerns.
Residents in Yardley and Lower Makefield Township have expressed complaintsand reached out to legislators about a proposed airport expansion.
The airport averages 308 aircraft per day. Frontier Airlines is the only airline with regular flights, handling about 601,000 passengers each year.
