Pennsbury High To Present 'Magic Theatre'

Pennsbury High School Thespians will perform the imaginative children's show on Nov. 16-17.

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — A magic land of imagination is in store for theater-goers who check out the upcoming Pennsbury High School Thespians performance

"Magic Theatre," by Saundra Mathews-Deacon, opens at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Orange Auditorium at Pennsbury High School West Campus. Other performances are set for 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17 (with a special "character" breakfast) and again at 7:30 p.m.

Acclaimed by critics and children alike, "Magic Theatre" is a production the Los Angeles Times says "celebrates the joys and dilemmas of childhood's anarchy." In it, actors suddenly say things like "I'm fire!" and "I'm a yellow submarine!" and then portray what they've said.

The show features songs and sketches as its characters move through both comic and serious contemporary fables celebrating childhood. Young audiences will immediately identify with the situations.

Pennsbury's award-winning International Thespian Troupe No. 830 also will perform "Magic Theatre" as part of the 2019 Pennsylvania State Thespian Conference.
