​Pennsbury High School To Host Mini THON

The eight-hour dance marathon is modeled after the popular Penn State event and raises money to help the fight against pediatric cancer.

Pennsbury High School will host an eight-hour dance marathon this Saturday, Feb. 24 to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. The school's 4th annual fundraiser will support Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

The public is invited to attend during the community hour from 7 to 8 p.m., which will include the reveal of the fundraising total. The school's address is 608 S Olds Blvd, Fairless Hills.

The event is modeled after the Penn State Dance Marathon. In 2017, Pennsbury Mini-THON raised over $45,000 for the cause. It was one of 235 schools that held Mini-THONs to raise a combined $5.5 million for Four Diamonds.

The money raised will help cover medical expenses for families that have children battling pediatric cancer, as well as support research for a cure. Families affected by pediatric cancer will be in attendance to speak about the impact of support they receive from Four Diamonds.

The Four Diamonds mission is to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children being treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research, according to information released by Pennsbury.

“Pennsbury Mini-THON instills compassion into everyone involved and teaches students to think about people other than themselves while coming together for an amazing cause, no matter what race, religion, or friend group they belong to," said senior co-chair Charlie Bluestein.

Senior co-chair Kate Goldinger added: “Pennsbury Mini-THON changes your outlook on life.
