Pennsbury Plans Digital Parenting Workshop

Cyberbullying, online predators and sexting will be among the topics discussed at the school district event set for Dec. 5.

YARDLEY, PA — Have you ever had questions about raising a child in an age of near-constant online activity? If so, you may want to check out a workshop that's been scheduled by the Pennsbury School District.

"Parenting in a Digital World" is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Pennwood Middle School auditorium. Pennwood Middle School is located at 1523 Makefield Rd. in Yardley.

The event will feature presentations from Kevin Dorsey, the school district's director of technology, and Det. Pete Lange from the Lower Makefield Township Police Department. Dorsey will be talking about the district's online safeguards.

Topics that will be discussed at the event will include keeping kids safe online, online predators, cyberbullying, sexting and social network use by kids.

School district officials said they wanted to hold the event before the holidays, when an influx of new tech gadgets show up in many households.
