Pennsbury School District's Active Shooter Drill Is Monday

Pennsbury School District's active shooter drill is this Monday, April 17. Students are scheduled to be off that day. The drill, being held in conjunction with local police and emergency responders, is expected to last approximately five to six hours and will be conducted inside Charles Boehm Middle School in Lower Makefield.

William Penn Middle School and Pennsbury High School West will also be utilized during the drill, according to information from the district. About 75 Pennsbury student actors, teachers and administrators are volunteering to participate in the drill.

“This type of exercise, when conducted on such a large scale, helps to simulate real-life events and proves invaluable to local agencies and to the public,” said Sherwood Taylor, Pennsbury Director of Administrative Services. “The Pennsbury School Board asked for us to initiate this important drill. Follow-up discussions afterwards will help us to fine-tune our response activity and protocols.”
