Morrisville is seeking candidates for police officer and a police chief to lead them.
MORRISVILLE, PA —The borough is hiring police officers and a police chief to lead the Morrisville Borough Police Department.
Morrisville said it is seeking a dynamic leader to shape the future of public safety and embrace the chance to drive change and foster community trust in this pivotal role, officials said.

"We are looking for a candidate of strong character and ethics, a visionary in law enforcement with a proven track record of leadership and innovation," officials said. "This role is not just about managing the police department. It's about being a change leader, driving progressive policing practices, and fostering a community of trust and safety.

Key Qualifications include:
- Experience —A minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience, with at least five years in a command or supervisory role.
- Education —A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience in law enforcement or a related field is preferred, signifying a strong foundation in the principles of modern policing and leadership.
- Modern Law Enforcement Management —Applicants should bring experience in managing a contemporary law enforcement agency, including proficiency in operations, planning, budgeting, labor relations, and the use of current technology.
- Leadership and Team Development —Exceptional leadership qualities are a must, including the ability to foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and teamwork. Candidates should possess proven abilities in team development, emphasizing communication and information sharing with borough staff and police department personnel to cultivate a responsive and unified team.
- Operational Knowledge —Comprehensive understanding of police department operations, practices, personnel administration, public administration, and current laws. Certification: Must be currently certified under Pennsylvania Act 120 or eligible to receive certification within 120 days of employment.

The starting salary for this position is $120,000, increasing based on qualifications, training, and experience.

Police Officer Hire
Meanwhile, the borough is on the lookout for candidates to join the force as police officers.
The borough is seeking applications for a full-time police officer.
Written examinations will occur on May 4 from 12:30 p.m. at Borough Hall.
Oral, Physical Fitness, and Agility tests will be announced following the application deadline.
Additional requirements include background check clearance and medical and psychological examinations.
