Police Officer Impersonator Scam Reported In Yardley
Yardley Borough Police said residents are getting calls from police department impersonators seeking donations.
YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Borough Police Department is alerting residents to beware of police impersonators seeking donations.
Yardley Borough Police said they have been made aware that once again an area resident received a call seeking donations identifying themselves as a named officer of the Yardley Boro Police Department.
Officer information is available online and the phone caller ID is easy to duplicate, police said.

The matter is under investigation by a neighboring police agency.
It is unlikely a law enforcement officer or law enforcement agency will ever call residents for a donation.

Anyone who gets a call from someone seeking a donation on behalf of a local POLICE, FIRE or EMS Department should call that department on a known business number to verify the person.
Residents should not provide any personal or financial information over the telephone.
