Publisher’s Clearing House Scam, BB Gun Fired: Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department released its blotter of criminal incidents from the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A Publisher’s Clearing House scam and a BB gun fired that shattered a window are among what the Lower Makefield Township Police Department released in its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.
These are the criminal incidents:

WORTHLESS CHECKS —Unit block of Morningside Drive, reported at 9:30 a.m. The complainant reported receiving a bad check from a customer for roof work. The investigation is ongoing.
ATTEMPTED FRAUD:

- Unit block of Milton Drive, reported at 1:27 p.m. The complainant reported being contacted by someone claiming to be with Publisher’s Clearing House saying they won a car and $7,000 a week for life, but they needed to send $700 in gift cards to collect their winnings. The complainant recognized this as a scam and did not send gift cards or money.
- 600 block of Tomlinson Lane, reported at 1:03 p.m. The complainant reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be an officer and they needed to pay to have a warrant lifted. The complainant recognized this as a scam and did not send money.
Dec. 15
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —1200 block of Knox Drive, reported at 1:30 pm. The complainant came to the police to report that on Dec. 13 the windows of their French door was shattered possibly be a BB gun.
Dec. 14
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —8800 block of Spruce Mill Drive, reported at 1:41 p.m. The complainant reported that their 2024 Kia had been keyed by a known suspect. The 27-year-old township man was taken into police custody and charged with criminal mischief and other related charges.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —1000 Stony Hill Road, reported at 2:40 pm. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, unknown persons removed their 2019 white Honda Accord from the parking lot of Hampton Inn.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —8800 block of Spruce Mill Road, reported at 8 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, their car was damaged. The damage included one flat tire,
broken windows and it was keyed.
Dec. 12
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —8800 block of Spruce Mill Road, reported at 7:20 pm. The complainant reported that the vehicle got keyed sometime during the previous day.
FRAUD —7100 block of Sheffield Road, reported at 11:20 am. The complainant reported that they
received phone calls from someone claiming to be from Norton Antivirus. The complainant
did send $500 but then realized it was a scam and stopped the payment.
