Retail, Vehicle Thefts Top Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents for the past week, which included retail thefts and a theft from a vehicle.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 7:58 a.m. The complainant reported while in the store, an unknown person(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a business-issued laptop and other items valued at more than $1,000. Video surveillance captured the theft and the vehicle was later located at the Shell gas station on Oxford Valley Road. A 37-year-old Levittown woman was taken into police custody. She was charged with theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. She was arraigned by District Justice Galloway and sent to BCCF in lieu of $100,000 with 10 percent bail.

ATTEMPTED CREDIT CARD FRAUD —1100 block of Gloria Lane, reported at 11:12 a.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) attempted to charge $1,800 on their credit card.

WANTED PERSON —500 block of West Trenton Avenue, reported at 11:04 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. A records check revealed the 35-year-old Trenton, N.J., man was wanted out of Mercer County. He was taken into police custody.

RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 3:24 p.m. Loss Prevention reported an unknown man on a scooter entered the store, selected $200.68 worth of merchandise, put it in his bag, and exited the store without paying. An investigation is ongoing.

May 13

THEFT —200 Sherwood Drive, reported at 2:35 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown
person(s) was caught on surveillance removing a package from their porch.

WANTED PERSON —Route 1 and Oxford Valley Road, reported at 4:53 p.m. Police on patrol received an LPR hit for a wanted person at the intersection. The vehicle was stopped and a records check confirmed the 36-year-old male driver from Philadelphia was wanted by police there for Terroristic Threats Against LEO & Family. He was taken into police custody.
