Rivermawr Neighborhood Focus Of Yardley Tour
The neighborhood is near the Delaware River and has been prone to flooding. The Yardley Historical Association is holding a guided tour.

YARDLEY, PA —The borough's historic Rivermawr neighborhood will be featured as one of three events by the Yardley Historical Association on Thursday this month.
The guided walking tour takes place at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Rivermawr neighborhood, which sits between the Delaware River and the Delaware Canal at the north end of Yardley Borough.
The neighborhood was developed between 1908 and 1910.

Yardley Historical Association President Susan Taylor will lead a 1-mile exploration that will begin at the intersection of Morgan and Fuld Avenues, appropriately named for the original developers.
Walkers will see what remains of the original bungalows that were built with summer vacationers in mind and hear the story of the new Mary Yardley footbridge over the canal.

Two other events are taking place later this month as well:
Residents can learn all about Yardley in one hour.
“Yardley 101,” a PowerPoint presentation filled with old and new photos, will debut on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Library by Lake Afton, 46 West Afton Ave.
From the Lenape and William Penn to the most recent additions to the town, the story of how Yardley developed and the people who did it will be told. Reservations for this free event are encouraged. E-mail info@yardleyhistory.org or call 215-862-2021.
With Harvest Day on Sept. 23, the Old Library by Lake Afton will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For those who have never been to the 1878 building, Harvest Day is a perfect opportunity to see the interior and items from the collections.
A variety of “Yardley gifts” will be available for purchase. New this year will be two “flour sack” tea towels. One features the popular skating on Lake Afton drawing; the other has a cheery watercolor of the west side of the Old Library banked with daffodils.
Free books and jigsaw puzzles accumulated from quarterly Book Swaps will be waiting for
new homes.
The Historical Association will also have a street booth on the bridge over the Delaware
Canal on East College Avenue.
