Salon Millan Moves Into Bigger Quarters In Yardley

Yardley and state officials were on hand for a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the move to a new location on East Afton Avenue.

YARDLEY, PA —Salon Millan wanted bigger quarters to better serve its customers.

So the business packed up and headed to East Afton Avenue, right above the Canal Street Grille.

Borough and state officials were on hand to mark the move with a ribbon-cutting ceremony right outside the location on 27 E. Afton Avenue.

Yardley Borough Council President Caroline Thompson was joined by State Sen. Steven J. Santarsiero and State Rep. Perry Warren.

Owner Melissa Millan Colon told Patch in a phone interview Wednesday that the salon had been located on Main Street for five years and that she was keeping her eye open for another space.

So far, she's pleased with the new digs.

"It's going really great," Colon said. "It's a nice, relaxing atmosphere with a new view of the (Delaware) canal."

State officials at the ribbon cutting last month that they were happy that the business has found a new home.

"I'm happy to welcome Salon Millan to its new, bigger shop in Yardley Borough," Santasario said. "After several years in business, the salon has moved to a larger shop and is looking forward to serving more customers."

Warren also expressed his happiness with the business expanding and staying put in the borough.

"It is wonderful to see businesses founded in Yardley thriving and expanding while also staying rooted in our community," Warren said.
