The Yardley Borough Police Department is warning residents that scam season is in full swing this spring.

YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA — The Yardley Borough Police Department is warning residents that scam season is in full swing this spring.

Yardley Borough Police said they've seen an uptick in reported scams and scam attempts.

"Please be aware that scams go on constantly and have one goal: To separate you from your money," police said. "Scammers are sophisticated and will use pressure, a sense of urgency, and a general lack of knowledge among citizens to perpetrate their crimes."

Police said that common scams and frauds include imposter scams, online shopping fraud, identity theft, romance scams, and cryptocurrency investment schemes, among others.

"Please think before you act, do not hesitate to hang up on a suspected scammer, and contact your local PD directly," police said. "If you pay money to a scammer, it is often too late to recover that money once it is sent."
