Scudder Falls Bridge Pedestrian Path Closing For 3 Days

The Scudder Falls Toll Bridge's Shared-Use Path is closed for the next three days, starting on Tuesday morning.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Scudder Falls Toll Bridge’s Shared-Use Path will be closed for the next three days, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has announced.

The pedestrian path is scheduled to be shut down from 7 a.m. Tuesday until 4 p.m. on Thursday.

The DRJTBC said the uninterrupted 57-hour-long closure will allow a contractor to complete an extensive resurfacing of the bridge’s walkway.

The remaining work involves portions of two observation areas as well as incomplete sections near several drainage inlets.

Punch list work also will be conducted during the around-the-clock closure period, including application of a bonding resin and grit to some resurfaced areas.

The bridge’s walkway has undergone resurfacing since mid-March.

The work has involved removal of the facility’s former uneven, puddle-prone polyester polymer concrete (PPC) surface layer followed by the application of a more-uniform replacement layer.

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission operates eight toll bridges and 12 toll-supported bridges, two of which are pedestrian-only spans.
