Seafood Theft, Stolen Vehicle Arrest Top Lower Makefield Crimes
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has reported its criminal incidents for the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —A seafood theft and a close call for a police officer who was almost struck by a DUI driver are among some of the criminal incidents handled by the Lower Makefield Township Police Department over the past week.

SOLICITORS:
- 800 block of Hudson Drive, reported at 12:36 p.m. The complainant reported that a solicitor for Elevated Remodeling was soliciting without a permit. They were advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.
- Unit block of Highland Drive, reported at 12:45 p.m. The complainant reported solicitors for Approved Contractors Inc. were soliciting without permits. They were advised to cease soliciting until permits were obtained.

THEFT —1400 block of Greenmeadows Road, reported at 1:53 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) stole and altered a check they mailed.
FRAUD —500 block of Keating Drive, reported at 6:03 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) used their account to purchase three mobile phones, which were delivered to their address with a different name.

IDENTITY THEFT —300 block of Rowantree Circle, reported at 1:09 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) received a loan and opened a bank account in their name.
STOLEN VEHICLE ARREST —2400 block of Lincoln Hwy. reported at 2:47 p.m. Police were alerted to a stolen vehicle in the area of Route 1 and Oxford Valley Road. Police eventually located the vehicle in the parking lot of Chick-fil-A. A 40-year-old Philadelphia man was taken into custody for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and Receiving Stolen Property. He was arraigned and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 6:19 p.m. Loss Prevention reported that two men entered the store and removed $85 worth of seafood without paying. A further investigation revealed the identity of one of the men. An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
DUI ARREST —Edgewood Road and Heacock Road, reported at 10:50 p.m. An officer on patrol
was traveling through the intersection when they were nearly hit by a vehicle speeding through the steady red signal. A traffic stop was performed. A 44-year-old Philadelphia woman was taken into police custody for Driving Under the Influence.
