Sextortion Scam, Wegmans Theft Top Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week, including a sextortion scam and the theft of $200 of Redbull from the Wegmans.

SOLICITORS —1200 block of Candlewick Court, reported at 10:49 a.m. The complainant reported solicitor for Paramount Home Solution soliciting without a permit. They were advised to cease soliciting until permits were obtained.

RETAIL THEFT —1600 block of Big Oak Road at Shop Rite, reported at 2:52 p.m. Loss Prevention reported that on June 30, a man removed a merchandise scanner without paying. Approximate value $1,618.

July 2

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —200 block of Elm Avenue, reported at 8:19 a.m. The complainant reported the theft of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler from the driveway. The vehicle was later recovered in Trenton, N.J.

FRAUD —1300 block of Pepperbush Court, reported at 10:23 a.m. The complainant reported hiring Home Repair LLC to complete work on their residence that was damaged by a hail
storm. The insurance check was cashed, but the work has not been completed. The company has not responded to the homeowner’s attempts to contact them. The investigation is ongoing.

BLACKMAIL & EXTORTION —2000 block of Farmview Drive, reported at 11:39 a.m. The complainant reported falling victim to a sextortion scam.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE —200 block of Arborlea Avenue, reported at 11:56 a.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight that someone entered the unlocked vehicle and removed a pocket knife.

RETAIL THEFT —900 block of Vasant Drive. at Wegmans reported at 5:06 p.m. Loss Prevention reported the theft of $200 worth of Redbull.

July 1

THEFT —1300 block of Violetwood Court, reported at 2:18 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of $120 from a wallet in the residence.

SOLICITORS —Knox Drive and Dawes Drive, reported at 3:29 p.m. The complainant reported a
solicitor in the area soliciting for sealing driveways without a permit. He was advised to cease soliciting until a permit was obtained.

June 29

IDENTITY THEFT —500 block of Long Acre Lane, reported at 5:32 p.m. The complainant reported someone used their information to purchase a cell phone.

June 28

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —700 block of Stony Hill Road, reported at 1:25 p.m. The complainant reported someone damaged the vehicle’s windshield wiper while unoccupied in the parking lot.
