Small Business Saturday: Gift Shop Selling All Things Yardley

Friends of Lake Afton will hold the annual event at the Yardley Community Center from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

YARDLEY, PA —With Small Business Saturday arriving, Friends of Lake Afton are getting into the act.

Organizers are gearing up for Saturday's All Things Yardley Gift Shop at the Yardley Community Center on 64 S. Main St.

Michelle Shafer, president of Friends of Lake Afton, said there will be gifts for all ages, Yardley ornaments, puzzles, matching games, pot holders, dish towels, totes, wine bags, coffee mugs, license plates, magnets, and more with all gifts pertaining to Yardley and/or Lake Afton.

The event takes place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Friends of Lake Afton is a non-profit organization that has been taking care of Lake Afton since 1969 for the public’s enjoyment and for the benefit of the wildlife that lives in and depends on Lake Afton for shelter, food, and water.

Funds are raised for the expensive algae treatments that Lake Afton requires every year between April and November.

The treatments are safe, made of biological products including bacteria and enzymes, and cost FOLA close to $20,000 every year.
