LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The sun is shining bright on this chilly Thursday morning at Prickett Preserve.

Across the street, Shady Brook Farm awaits another weekend of its annual holiday lights show. But here at Prickett Preserve on Stony Hill Road, construction crews work inside and outside, getting the second Wegmans in Bucks County prepared for its opening sometime early next year.

Patch was the first media organization to take an exclusive tour inside the supermarket along with Store Manager Bill Platt, Service Manager Dave Hemmer, two public relations specialists, and Jeff Gashlin, manager of new store construction.

While Bucks County boasts a Wegmans in Warrington Township, this second store will serve as a retail crown jewel for Lower Bucks County, one of 17 Wegmans in the Pennsylvania/Delaware region and among 110 stores overall.

The 88,000-square-foot store is a little bigger than some of the others Wegmans has built over the years, at least 7,000-square-feet bigger than the one in Wilmington, DE.

The store will employ 415 people, 155 of which will be full-time workers and 260 part-timers.
