Stolen Political Signs, Jewelry Burglary: Lower Makefield Crimes

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of recent criminal incidents.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA. —Political signs were stolen. So was a Jeep. And police reported screws being left in two separate incidents on a street and a driveway.

These were some of the criminal incidents the Lower Makefield Township Police Department released its blotter of crimes for the past week.

Oct. 24

IDENTITY THEFT:

  • 1000 block of Randolph Drive, reported at 9:59 a.m. The complainant reported receiving a text from someone who they believed to be from PayPal showing a pending transaction they didn’t make. While speaking with who they believed to be PayPal customer service, their identity was compromised.
  • Unit block of Black Rock Road, reported at 3:24 p.m. The complainant reported a fictitious account that used their address on a post.

THEFT:

  • 100 block of Floral Vale Boulevard, reported at 11:03 a.m. The complainant reported unauthorized withdrawals since March totaling $7,000. An investigation is ongoing.
  • Oxford Valley Road and Heacock Road, reported at 2:51 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of political signs.

Oct. 23

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —Unit block of Rita Road, reported at 7:05 a.m. The complainant reported that sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) entered an unlocked vehicle, removed keys to another vehicle in the driveway, a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, and stole it.

ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —400 block of Lenape Lane, reported at 4:58 p.m. The complainant reported sometime overnight, an unknown person(s) broke the lock off their 2005 Ford Econoline Van and popped the ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —1100 block of Dickinson Drive, reported at 4:25 p.m. The complainant reported an unknown person(s) put screws in their driveway.

Oct. 22

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —2300 block of Yardley Road, reported at 4:45 p.m. The complainant
reported an unknown person(s) defecated on their lawn after placing a political sign on it.

THEFT —1800 block of Makefield Road, reported at 3:57 p.m. The complainant reported that an unknown person(s) stole a package containing an iPhone from their front porch.

Oct. 21

ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —300 block of Richard Rd. reported at 4:33 a.m. The complainant reported hearing a car alarm going off and witnessing an unknown person(s) attempting to steal their neighbor’s vehicle. The Hyundai’s rear window was smashed and the steering column was broken. A $1,400 check was also missing.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE —400 block of Lenape Lane, reported at 8:50 a.m. The complainant reported unknown person(s) attempted to open a vehicle’s doors in their driveway.

FRAUD —3500 block of Waltham Court, reported at 12:56 p.m. The complainant reported opening an email from who they believed to be from Geek Squad advising that their computer needed technical service. They were advised to purchase $2,000 worth of Amazon gift cards to purchase firewall protection. The gift card numbers were provided to the scammer.

WANTED PERSON —800 block of Big Oak Road, reported at 3:06 p.m. Police on patrol stopped a vehicle for violations. A records check revealed the 27-year-old Philadelphia man was wanted by the Bucks County Sheriffs. He was taken into police custody.

THEFT —Langhorne-Yardley Road and Schuyler Drive, reported at 7:24 p.m. The complainant
reported the theft of two political signs.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS —Big Oak Road and Stony Hill Road, reported at 5:04 a.m. Police responded to the report of a man who claimed people were popping out of the woods, and trying to get him and not making sense. A further investigation led to the 35-year-old Morrisville man being cited for Public Drunkenness. He was given a courtesy transport back to his residence.

Oct. 20

THEFT —1100 block of University Drive, reported at 5:18 p.m. The complainant reported theft
of a package from their porch.

Oct 19

THEFT —200 (255) block of Oxford Valley Road at Heartis Senior Living reported at 5:31 p.m. The complainant reported the theft of $100 from a resident’s wallet. An investigation is ongoing.

Oct. 18

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF —Unit block of Houston Road, reported at 4 p.m. The complainant reported an ongoing issue of unknown person(s) putting nails and screws in the street.

THEFT —1000 block of Randolph Road, reported at 6:23 p.m. The complainant reported the theft
of a package from their porch.

BURGLARY —1600 block of Susan Circle, reported at 9:19 p.m. The complainant reported returning home to find an unknown person(s) forced entry into the residence via a sliding
glass door and removed jewelry and designer purses.
