Threat At Pennsbury High Leads To Extra Security
There was an online rumor Monday evening of a "potential threat" at the school, district officials say.
FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — An online security threat at Pennsbury High School led to extra police presence as students arrived for class Tuesday morning.
In a letter to parents, Elizabeth Aldridge — director of student services with the Pennsbury School District — said "a rumor was shared online" Monday evening about a "potential threat" at Pennsbury High.
School officials notified security staff and local police "so that we could ensure the safety and welfare of all students and staff," Aldridge said.

As a result, there was an additional police presence at the school Tuesday morning.
"As with any perceived threat, it is taken seriously and promptly investigated," Aldridge wrote. "As always, we thank our community for partnering with us to keep our students and staff safe."
