Underground Railroad Presentation At Gather Place Museum

YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA — The Gather Place museum will hold a presentation on the Underground Railroad on Saturday.

The event takes place from 2-3 p.m. on Saturday at the museum on 188 South Canal Street.

Museum Executive Director Shirley Corsey said the program's highlights include stories brought to life by an African American presenter whose own ancestry connects both the courageous freedom seekers and the allies who helped guide them to safety.

"For generations, historians, researchers, authors, and publishers have preserved these narratives...now, experience them first-hand shared by someone who carries this living legacy within," Corsey said.

The program will show the exploration of how communities along the Delaware River formed a network guiding freedom seekers heading further north through the Underground Railroad.

The role of local churches, meeting houses, homes, and waterways in the Underground Railroad.

There will also be community engagement, conversation, and an interactive audience Q&A session.
