Wegmans Medicine Theft Marks 11th For Supermarket Chain

Lower Makefield Township Police reported the Aug. 28 theft among its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Wegmans has a medicine thief.

The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has reported that the Wegmans supermarket at the 900 block of Vansant Drive had a medicine theft at 3 p.m. on Aug. 28.

Loss Prevention reported that a man removed $1,846.48 worth of OTC medicine without paying.

But this wasn't the first time this crime happened at Wegmans.

Police said the man committed similar thefts at 11 other Wegmans, resulting in a loss of $20,092.40.

An investigation is ongoing.

In other township retail thefts:

On Aug. 28, Police reported a retail theft on the 500 block of West Trenton Avenue.

Police responded to a retail theft in progress at CVS at 10:49 a.m. AM.

Further investigation led to a 62-year-old Philadelphia man taking $138.44 worth of merchandise without paying.
