Wegmans Theft Of $1,500 In Items Reported In Lower Makefield
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has released its blotter of criminal incidents for the past week.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —The new Wegmans supermarket is drawing the attention of thieves who hope they can dine for some time on merchandise that they've stolen.
The Wegmans theft was among the criminal incidents this past week noted in the Lower Makefield Township Police Department's blotter.

May 21
FRAUD —Unit block of Scammell Drive, reported at 3:38 p.m. It was reported that a fraudulent debit card was opened by someone they knew and $800 was withdrawn from their account.

May 19
RETAIL THEFT —900 block of Vasant Drive, at the Wegmans supermarket, reported at 4:38 p.m. Loss Prevention reported that on May 14, a suspect entered the store and removed $1,522.60 worth of merchandise without paying.
May 18
DUI ARREST —100 block of Garden Ridge Circle, reported at 1:54 a.m. Police responded to the report of a vehicle parked but running for over thirty minutes at the location. When police approached the vehicle, the driver was asleep. Further investigation led to the arrest of a 44-year-old Philadelphia woman for Driving Under the Influence.
May 17
ATTEMPTED FRAUD —200 block of Kennedy Way, reported at 12:59 p.m. It was reported that while reading an article on their computer that the screen went blue and the cursor started moving around. An unknown person then called their cell phone and advised them their computer was hacked. The computer was powered off by the owner and they received a phone call the following day asking why they turned the
computer off.

ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT —Unit block of West Ferry Road, reported at 8:43 a.m. It was reported that an unknown person(s) forced entry into their vehicle and heavily damaged the ignition attempting to steal the vehicle.
