Women's History Show & Tell Weekends Announced By Gather Place
The Yardley museum is teaming up with the Pennsbury Manor for two weekends of history events in late May.

YARDLEY, PA —Women's History Show & Tell Weekends are coming in May.
Shirley Lee Corsey, conservator for The Gather Place Museum, said Wednesday that she is teaming up with The Pennsbury Manor in Morrisville for two weekends in late May devoted to women's history.
"My mission is to break the spell," Corsey told Patch Wednesday. "There's no reason to just celebrate Black History Month in February and Women's History Month in March. This history is for everybody all the time."

Using a chuck of a $6,000 Bucks County Tourism grant, Gather Place will have attendees going to the Pennsbury Manor on two Saturdays on May 18 and 25 for Corsey's live portrayal of Susanna Warder and the first family of William Penn, the state's founder, who lived in the country estate.
The Women's History Month Show & Tell Weekends aim to celebrate and educate the public on the profound contributions of Pennsylvania’s founding women, pioneering women, and notable First Ladies of our nation throughout America’s history.

The program's primary objective is to establish itself as a compelling tourist attraction, encouraging both local patrons and visitors from outside Bucks County to explore the region further, potentially by staying overnight in various accommodations throughout Bucks County, Corsey said.
Gather Place will then devote Sundays May 19 and 26 to live performances by Corsey at the historic African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church on South Canal Street.
The first Sunday will be devoted to Corsey's first-person presentation as Harriet Tubman, Civil War hero, abolitionist, and suffragette.
On May 26, The Gather Place will host "Remembering the Ladies," a lecture and show honoring the First Ladies of the United States. And Corsey will portray Michelle Obama.
Gather Place Museum will provide chartered bus services for transportation between Gather Place Museum and The Pennsbury Manor.
Registration for the events is now open. Seating is limited. Interested participants can click here to sign up for the weekends.
"This collaborative endeavor with Pennsbury Manor perfectly aligns with our mission to celebrate diversity and educate the public on the remarkable contributions of Pennsylvania women, spanning from the state's founding to our nation's inception," Corsey said. "We eagerly anticipate delivering an engaging and enriching experience for our community and visitors alike."
