Yardley 5K Is June 3

Running for fun and health… and for the Community

On June 3rd, 2018, Yardley Borough will host the 10th anniversary of the Yardley 5K. This annual event brings people from all over the area to run (or walk) for health, for fun and, most importantly, for the advancement of our community. Since its inception in 2008, the Y5K run has generated over $11,000.00 in donations, which the Yardley Rec Board has used to support many great non-profit organizations in the area.

The proceeds from last years events were donated to the Friends of Lake Afton ($2,000.00) and the Yardley Historical Association ($500.00). Prior recipients of Yardley Rec Board event donations include Friends of the Delaware Canal, Yardley Borough Police, Sons of the American Legion, Yardley Farmer’s Market and Canal-o-Ween. Organizations like these are truly the heart and soul of this beloved community, and your participation helps support their activities!

The Y5K is a great family event for people of all ages and skill levels, with prizes for top-place finishers as well as random prizes from local Yardley businesses based on the participant’s race bib number. The top 200 registrants will also receive a t-shirt. Last year, the event attracted over 270 participants and is hoping to grow even more this year.
