Yardley Adds New Officer To Its Police Force

YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Borough Police Department has added a new full-time police officer to its ranks.

At Tuesday night's meeting, Yardley Borough Council certified a newly drafted civil service list and authorized the hire of Officer Joseph D. Martin.

Martin was then sworn in by Mayor Chris Harding.

Martin has served as a part-time police officer since February 2020, borough officials said.

He had prior service with the Philadelphia Police Department.

Martin holds a bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University and a master’s degree from Marygrove College. Ofc. He is also the recipient of a Unit Commendation Award.
