Yardley Chocolate Shop Goes Pink For Breast Cancer

Chocolatier Stephane LeSaint and his wife, Barbara, were impacted by a close friend dying of breast cancer at age 44.

YARDLEY, PA — A Yardley chocolate shop is rolling out a line of hand-crafted pink chocolates, all to benefit breast cancer treatment and awareness.

In October, LeSaint French Chocolate is unveiling a collection of hand-crafted, hand-painted chocolates for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the month, 20 percent of proceeds from the chocolates will be donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a nonprofit that connects women impacted by breast cancer with information and support.

Owner Stephane LeSaint and his wife, Barbara, were impacted by the loss of a close friend who died from breast cancer at the age of 44. The couple wanted to create art, in chocolate, in her memory.

"There are many breast cancer charities, but we chose LBBC because it is local and it was important for us to partner with an organization whose resources went directly to those who need it most – patients and their families," said Lesaint.

Each chocolate is handmade by Lesaint in his production kitchen in Yardley. It's a process that takes two days to complete – from creating the shell and filling to hand painting the chocolate.
