Yardley Farmers Market Aiming To Address Food Security
In partnership with a local church, the Yardley Farmers Market is working hard to address food security in the area.
YARDLEY, PA — Local residents who use food stamps at the Yardley Farmers Market one day next month can get up to an extra $25 worth of food thanks to a new partnership.
For National Farmers Market Week, which runs from Aug. 7 through Aug. 13, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Churchon Lake Afton will help the market offer a dollar for ever dollar spent by a SNAP card user (up to $25).
The special promotion runs on Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to noon.

“St. Andrew’s is so grateful for thehundreds of people in the local community who have come together for our neighbors through St. Andrew’s feeding programs like Caring for Friends," Rev. Canon Hilary Greer said in a statement. "Partnering with the Farmers Market tomake fresh food accessible for all local families has been a great way of extending that spirit ofcommunity."
The Yardley Farmers Market is located at Buttonwood Park.
