Yardley Farmers Market Marks 10-Year Anniversary
The farmers market opened for its 10th summer season in a ceremony with Yardley area dignitaries on Saturday.

YARDLEY, PA —The Yardley Farmers Market hit a major milestone on Saturday.
Market Managers Sue Schneck and Joni Garcia marked 10 years since their first summer market. They kicked off an opening day celebration with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring local dignitaries.
"It was awesome. It was great considering the weather. We had a good crowd," Schneck told Patch on Monday. "It's hard to believe 10 years have gone by. One vendor we've had from the beginning said it feels like 3-5 years. Time flies. This is a happy place and it's a great little town."

The market managers announced that they will also be selling canvas YFM tote bags as a fundraiser for the market this year.
"It was a pleasure to join Rep. Perry Warren, Councilman Jared Stump, and Yardley Farmers Market leadership to open the market for its 10th anniversary this morning," Borough Council President Caroline Thompson said. "A decade of bringing fresh produce, food, and home goods to our town. Thanks to everyone who has supported this special place once or a hundred times."

The farmers market said that opening day was a success.
"Thank you to our wonderful customers who came out to support our vendors and makers," the farmers market said. "We are grateful for your support and involvement in the market over the years. We wouldn’t be here without you."
And a special thanks to Caroline Thompson, Borough Council President, and Representative Perry Warren for their consistent support and kind words to help us kick off our 10th season in Buttonwood Park, the farmers market said.
The farmers market takes place from 9 a.m. to Noon Saturdays at Buttonwood Park rain or shine from now through Nov. 23, except Sept. 21.
The farmers market also has two other volunteers each week: Carol Such and Laura Thomforde.
Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, the farmers market said.
