YARDLEY, PA — A student from Yardley has been announced as a recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from Dunkin' of Philadelphia.

Kaitlyn Kobol, a Pennsbury High School graduate attending Kutztown University, was one of five Bucks County students to earn the scholarship.

Students in the Dunkin' Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program were selected from more than 2,000 applicants based on their academic record, demonstrated leadership and proven commitment to their schools and local communities.

Dunkin' and its franchisees in the greater Philadelphia area award the recipients with scholarships to pursue undergraduate degrees at accredited two or four-year colleges, universities or vocational-technical schools.

Kobol is a rising junior at Kutztown University. She serves as a tour guide with the admissions office and a community assistant for Residence Life. She is a member of the Kutztown Honors program, a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and recently returned from a month in Germany, Austria and Italy, where she studied the Holocaust.

She is currently pursuing a degree in Secondary Education for Social Studies.
