1. Touch-a-Truck event in Zelienople will support fundraiser to cure rare illness (butlereagle.com) — On Aug. 12, T & M Hardware’s Zelienople location will turn its rental equipment into a hands-on Touch-a-Truck playground to raise money for a gene therapy trial. Funds support 11-year-old Zelienople resident Jax Ramirez, who is battling the rare autoimmune disease IPEX syndrome, and build on the strong backing his family has already received from the local community.
   

2. Zelienople's annual, lively Shindig Charity Music Festival returns (butlereagle.com) — Zelienople Community Park will be packed Aug. 7-9 as the Shindig Charity Music Festival brings live bands, food trucks, a car show, kids’ activities and vendors to town. Proceeds support causes including Zelienople Community Park, the local police department, Zelienople Area Public Library and health-focused nonprofits.
   

3. Creative Crawl through Zelie's art scene the first weekend of August (butlereagle.com) — Zelienople will host its first-ever Creative Crawl Aug. 7-9, inviting ticket holders to rotate through four local studios for hands-on projects while exploring Main Street’s restaurants, breweries and boutiques. With limited $225 tickets, the weekend highlights CURIO Art Studio, Zelie Candle Bar, Spring Street Studios and Woods Lane & Co., plus special deals from more than two dozen nearby businesses.
   

4. 11 weekend events for Pittsburgh families Aug. 7-9 (most of them free!), from superheroes to sweet summer fun (kidsburgh.org) — Pittsburgh-area families have plenty to do Aug. 7-9, including a free food truck festival at Glade Run Lutheran Services’ historic Zelienople campus with trucks, raffles, animals and kids’ activities. The roundup also highlights Steel City Con, yoga at Phipps, a sensory-friendly Spider-Man screening, museum programs, concerts and more across the region.
