3 Rhode Island Beaches Dangerous For Swimming Due To High Bacteria Levels: State

The Rhode Island Department of Health recommended closing the swimming areas of three Ocean State beaches due to high bacteria levels.

The department recommended closing the swimming area at Easton’s Beach in Newport, Oakland Beach in Warwick and Briar Point Beach in Coventry due to high bacteria counts.

"RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality through Labor Day," the department said in a media release.

"The status of a beach may change as new data becomes available," according ot the release.
