5 RI Hotels Land On List Of Region's Best

The publication released its annual Top 20 Hotels in the Northeast on Tuesday.

Five Rhode Island hotels have been named among the best in the Northeast, including the hotel that took the top spot in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.

The publication released its Top 20 Hotels in the Northeast on Oct. 6. Rhode Island hotels in Newport, Watch Hill, Providence and Block Island made the rankings.

Here are the Rhode Island hotels that made the list:

No. 1: Castle Hill Inn, Newport

Located on 40 acres along Ocean Drive, Castle Hill Inn offers accommodations in its historic Agassiz Mansion as well as beach cottages, beach houses and harbor houses. Some rooms overlook Narragansett Bay or the Atlantic Ocean, while guests also have access to a private beach.

No. 4: Watch Hill Inn, Westerly

Watch Hill Inn has been part of the Watch Hill community since 1845. The hotel features 19 residential-style suites, including one- and two-bedroom accommodations with kitchens. Guests also have access to amenities at nearby Ocean House, including its private beach, spa and indoor saltwater pool.

No. 10: The Vanderbilt, Newport

Set inside a historic downtown mansion once owned by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, The Vanderbilt combines its Gilded Age setting with modern guest rooms and suites. The hotel is located on Mary Street and offers views of downtown Newport and Newport Harbor from some accommodations.

No. 19: The Beatrice, Providence

The Beatrice is a boutique hotel at 90 Westminster St. in downtown Providence. The property includes guest rooms and suites, Bellini Providence restaurant and Bellini Rooftop. Its location puts guests near the city’s colleges, restaurants, shops and cultural attractions.

No. 20: The National Hotel, Block Island

The historic National Hotel sits on Water Street in New Shoreham, directly across from the Old Harbor ferry landing. The Victorian hotel has 46 rooms and a large porch overlooking the harbor, with shops, restaurants and beaches within walking distance.

Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards were based on 798,867 votes from readers.
