Wednesday night's low of 70 will be accompanied by a slight chance of thunderstorms, but the sun comes back out Thursday as the temperature rockets to 89 degrees.
"The worst of this heat is expected to be Thursday and Friday," according to the National Weather Service, "but regardless this will be a prolonged and dangerous heatwave."
Thursday night is clear and 74 degrees, but Friday will be a sweltering 93.
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the National Weather Service advised.
"Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles," the National Weather Service cautioned. "Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes."
