Blood Emergency At Rhode Island Blood Center

The Rhode Island Blood Center said it is in the midst of a blood emergency.

"Blood emergency — urgent need for donors," the blood center said on its website, including a link for donors to click.

"Donating blood is easy, and takes less than an hour. Find a location near you and let your green flag wave," the message on the site said.

The blood center also listed the top three reasons for donating:

1. One donation can save up to 3 lives.
2. It takes less than an hour.
3. It makes you instantly more attractive. (And that’s just science. Probably.)
