A rainy Wednesday will give way to cloudy skies in Rhode Island as the high surf advisory continues through Thursday night.
A cloudy Wednesday night will continue to be cloudy Thursday with a high temperature near 79 degrees.
The high surf advisory that lasts until 8 p.m. Thursday will have waves of 4 to 9 feet breaking in the surf zone as well as "dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion," according to the National Weather Service.
"Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions," the National Weather Service warned.
Skies clear by Thursday night as the temperature drops to 60.
Friday will be sunny with a high near 80.
