Skies were sunny Thursday in Rhode Island Thursday as the high surf advisory remained in effect.
The high surf advisory was set to expire at 8 p.m. Thursday.
The National Weather Service warned of "large breaking waves of 4 to 7 feet in the surf zone and high risk of rip currents" and "dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion."
"Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions," the National Weather Service cautioned.
Thursday's high temperature will reach 79 degrees and drop to 59 Thursday night.
Friday will again be sunny with a high temperature of 79.
