Cranston Man Charged With Falsely Obtaining More Than $10K In Property: Police

He was also charged with accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes, police said.

CRANSTON, RI — A Cranston man was charged with obtaining more than $10,000 worth of property by false pretenses or personation, police said.

John Rocha, 43, was also charged with accessing a computer for fraudulent purposes, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.

Rocha was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the release.

"This arrest was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Hope Valley Barracks and Rocha subsequently being taken into custody by the Cranston Police Department," the release said.

Rocha was processed at the Hope Valley Barracks, arraigned by a justice of the peace and released with a court date, according to police.
