This Breakfast Sandwich Is Ranked Among The Best In Rhode Island

Rhode Island has no shortage of places to grab a breakfast sandwich, but one favorite has been singled out in a new national ranking.

The Daily Meal named Ellie's in Providence the best breakfast sandwich spot in Rhode Island, highlighting its Signature Breakfast Sandwich in a list of the best breakfast sandwiches in every state.

The list said breakfast sandwiches remain one of the country’s favorite morning meals, with shops across the United States putting their own spin on the basic combination of meat, cheese, eggs and bread. The Daily Meal said its picks included coffee shops, diners, bakeries, brunch restaurants and other local favorites.

The Daily Meal described the Ellie's sandwich as expertly prepared.

"Egg, cheddar, and tomato jam on an English muffin form the base, with optional add-ons including bacon, sausage, or ham," the Daily Meal said. "Or go meat-free and add on greens or avocado."

The full list includes breakfast sandwiches ranging from buttermilk biscuit sandwiches in the South to bagel sandwiches in the Northeast, along with croissant, focaccia, pita, waffle and English muffin versions.
