California Crank Caller Pleads Guilty In Federal Court

PROVIDENCE, RI — A California man charged with making obscene, harassing and threatening phone calls to three Rhode Island women and others pleaded guilty in federal court.

Justin Glauthier, 30, pleaded guilty to stalking through cellular and internet communications, according to a media release from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Glauthier, a resident of Anaheim, "made hundreds of obscene and threatening telephone calls to women in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and elsewhere," the release said, adding that he "repeatedly called and harassed women whose names, photographs, and other personal information he obtained from the internet."

At the time of his arrest in March 2025, the FBI had identified at least nine women Glauthier had called to harass and threaten, according to the release.

"In dozens of calls to victims, Glauthier made sexually explicit comments, sometimes claimed to know where they lived and/or worked, and threatened to visit them unannounced at their homes or places of employment if they did not remain on the phone with him or cooperate during the calls," the release said.

Glauthier's sentencing was scheduled for Aug. 6.
